CABELL SCHOOL CONSOLIDATION PLAN HAS LITTLE OBJECTION
Cabell County students who attend two Huntington middle schools will be seeing major changes.
The superintendent is recommending that the Enslow school close at the end of 2010-11 school year.
Enslow students would then attend classes at Beverly Hills Middle School until a new consolidated middle school opens in early 2013.
There has been little objection to the consolidation plan.
The school board is planning to build a new consolidated Enslow-Beverly Hills middle school on the former University Heights property near U.S. 60.
The new school, which was approved for a $19 million dollar grant, was awarded an additional $2 million to make it a green school.
The new building is to be environmentally friendly and is scheduled for completion by 2013.
